Arsenal’s players and staff woke up with a sever festive hangover this morning, following last night’s shock defeat to Southampton.
The Gunners woke up to headlines questioning whether they really had the bottle and guts required to lift their first Premier League title since 2004, following the nature of the 4-0 drubbing.
But for Southampton, it was a seriously important victory, and was their first win in all competitions since November 7 and the victory at Sunderland.
Going into the Boxing Day clash, they were just four points above the drop zone and looked more than relieved after the final whistle.
